Set the scene in the middle of nowhere in the cold bustling spring of Wyoming
Where all the traffic signs are shot up by the local rats from truck beds with stolen ammunition
And there's water bottles filled with tobacco juice lining the sides of the road around here
And blood stains on the snow covered highway with cans of oil and beer
Mixed with the guts of some unlucky creatures.
The kid had a heart of steel but a head full of lead
He heard word down the vine that the city was an alchemist
He took the fruit from that vine, when he left the whole town they gathered around
Talked about making a name for himself and never settling down
In the middle of that metropolis
His mouth was running before his feet even touched that cities ground
Set the scene in the center of it all the rise and fall of the cities walls
Ten thousand cars, crowded bars, and the feeling like no one else is around
Where poverty is marked off by sections and corners and streets your told not to linger
But around here blood soaks the cities broken streets with the guts of some unlucky people
He said this cities no different from where I'm from
There's more of it to swallow yeah but it's easier to choke on
Because people everywhere are hungry and full on themselves
And conversations are just an excuse so we can hear ourselves
Ignore the gore and talk about something else.
